Threads of Northlake Tapestry During 55 Years:  Missions

In 1958, mission outreach to Decatur and DeKalb County was at the heart and goal of the newly formed congregation. Since this church’s founding, participation in and support of mission outreaches locally and internationally are vibrant threads in our history, such as foster care ministry; elderly care housing; preaching and healing in Liberia, Brazil, and Honduras; numerous TIME trips and mission trips to share God’s love and plant kingdom work more deeply in the hearts our of youth and members. Also, Northlake has a prayer support ministry with the Cash family in Uganda, the Guild family in Tanzania, the Massey family in Croatia, and the Allen family in Thailand.

Our partnership with David, Michelle, Brielle and Brianna Allen came naturally as David and his parents, Sid and Jenetta Allen, were members of this congregation when he was a teenager.  We welcomed them Sunday to Northlake and are thankful for their sharing with us God’s Word and their 19+ years of ministry in Thailand.
