Shawn Duncan Traveling in South Africa

As a part of Shawn’s doctoral studies at Columbia Theological Seminary, he was invited to participate in a special seminar that includes travel to South America.

He and his fellow classmates are exploring processes for interpreting what God may be doing in cultures undergoing significant social change through the use of historical, political, and socio-cultural methods of theological interpretation.  Via readings and conversations with South African theologians, pastors, educators, and other public leaders, students will explore the dramatic changes in South Africa since the end of Apartheid in 1994 and how these conversation partners interpret those changes.

His experiences will be powerful ones and he will surely have some remarkable stories to tell upon his return.  He will be coming home late Saturday, 28 May.  Keep him and his family in your prayers!
