On Monday June 13th, the youth had our first meeting of Picture This! This was a time where the students divided up into pairs and answered various questions ranging from “Tell a funny story from your childhood” to “What are you biggest dreams for your life?” to “Share your testimony.”
The goal of the night was to give the students time to get to know each other on a deeper level and begin to form friendships that are not afraid to ask the hard questions. It was an opportunity for the students to share what was on their hearts with another person who could help them carry the load, whether it be joy or troubles.
At the end of the night the students were asked to take a picture of their partner that they felt represented the things they had learned, and to write a brief statement about it. Cathy Rice, who was paired with Maryka Zee had this to say, “Maryka longs to find focus in her spiritual life… and she’s pretty awesome!” Preston Kemp, in speaking of what he learned about Aziz Tody said, “Aziz is very deep thinking and has many goals he is working to accomplish.” Both Jessica Brown and Anneka Zee mentioned the other’s joyful and kind-hearted personality.
Picture This will meet every other Monday at 6:00 PM at Northlake during the summer. Hope to see you there!
