New NETWorks Office Space

NETWorks finally has a home to call its own! Earlier this year Wells Fargo generously donated the building and closing costs to First Baptist Church of Tucker. FBCT had pursued this property for two years with the sole intent of renting the space to NETWorks as a hub for community organizations. Happily we signed a lease this month for a whopping sum of $1 annually and are beginning the necessary renovations to occupy the building! NETWorks hopes to be in and operating by the first week in July, which will coincide with our seventh anniversary! This is a wonderful and long awaited blessing!

As mentioned, NETWorks plans to share the space with several other community organizations. Currently we have received mention of interest from the Tucker Civic Association, Tucker Historical Society, and Habitat for Humanity. We will begin dialoging with these and any other interested parties this month. Our goal is to create a space where these organizations can get to know one another and have a supportive role in each other’s objectives to the end of building a stronger community.

As for NETWorks, we look forward to having a little more room in which to live. We plan to  create a welcome space, children’s area, Director’s office, prescreening room, and storage facility for immediate needs items and ready-to-eat foods. We anticipate expanding our hours, an additional day, to include appointments for public benefits screening and resume building. Additionally, we envision including an educational component among our services which would most likely be a financial or job training course.

Please join us in prayer during this important time, both in thanksgiving for the blessing of this new asset and in pursuit of God’s continued guidance. NETWorks also invites you to become involved in this ministry to the Northlake-Embry Hills-Tucker community. We are seeking new volunteers, financial supporters, and corporate sponsors. The opportunities are ripe for your partnership! We look forward to hearing from you.
