Mission Team Leaves for Honduras

Participating with the Church

Scores of Northlake members during the past 25 years have experienced first hand the opportunity to be part of the Predisan Healthcare Ministry in Catacamas, Olancho.  Next Tuesday a group will be on the ground and ready to serve alongside families in the rural community of El Cacao.  We will share our faith with adults and children as we do VBS activities in the school and church.  A good breakfast of hand ground tortillas, red beans, a fresh egg and Honduran coffee will prepare us to mix and shovel cement as we join in building hydraulic latrines.  This project is part of the overall health and sanitation program that Predisan coordinates for community development.

An Improved Hydraulic Latrine

We travelers are Jim Wagner, Chad Caldwell, Megan Reed, Leslie Reed, and Doris Clark.  We are also your representatives to take gifts and love to Kyle, Bety, Mia and Emily Huhtanen,  as well as appreciation to all the Predisan staff.  Please pray for our safe travels July 19-26, also that we are open to every opportunity to engage in meaningful relationships.  Pray that God will be glorified through our contacts and service and that this experience will be another means He uses to mold us more into the image of Jesus.  Hasta luego!
