Meet Northlake’s Ministry Intern

Amy Carman and her husband Jon have been attending Northlake for one year. They moved to Atlanta from Los Angeles, CA to attend Emory University for their Master of Divinity degrees.  For the “Contextual Education” portion of that degree program, Amy has recently started an internship under one of our Associate Ministers, Shawn Duncan.  She will be serving Northlake in this capacity for the full 2012-2013 school year.  Currently she is serving as a worship coordinator, putting together songs, prayers, and PowerPoint for each Sunday service. Additionally, Amy is teaching the Koinonia Adult Bible class on Sunday mornings. Throughout the year, she will be working in various ministries to get a sampling of what working as a pastor in a local congregation is like. After graduating in 2013, she hopes to do a Ph. D in New Testament. Eventually she hopes to work at a Bible college or seminary, be an active teacher in her local congregation, and work with seminaries in third world nations to train pastors and church leaders.  Northlake is so very blessed to have such a talented young leader working with us this year.
