Lenten Daily Devotional: 3/3/21

Matthew 5.21-22

“You have heard that it was said to those who lived long ago, Don’t commit murder, and all who commit murder will be in danger of judgment. But I say to you that everyone who is angry with their brother or sister will be in danger of judgment.

Pray with Mia, who is leading our devotional today.

Dear God, You are perfect, not one mistake have you made

You have been good to us

Although we are imperfect

We as humans get angry

and can be hurtful to others

God Please help us to stay calm in times where we are tempted to be irritate, for we are cross

Help us not to rage over what has happened in the past

and let us forgive and let go of sins done against us

God please Speak to us when we are in rage

and help us to be restful

Help to create tranquility throughout our body in times of anger

Help us know that when your spirit is with us we will not get vexed or provoked

Instead let us be calm

Even with our brothers and sisters we will not get angry, we will proceed in kind ways

and hope to be treated the same way

Let us follow your lead in kindness and help others to follow as well

all of us covered in your spirit

Amen
