For Our Kids- Aug. 2

During the month of August, we’re going to explore a spiritual exercise together each week- something you can practice together, as a family! These are practices that are designed to give attention to spiritual matters and in doing so, make your spirit strong. Just like we exercise our bodies, our spirits need exercise too!

2 Corinthians 4:18- “So we set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see. What we see will last only a short time. But what we cannot see will last forever.” (*Older kids would be able to read this whole chapter- 2 Corinthians 4 and think about any connections to things happening in our world today.*)

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE- Prayer Walk

Today’s Spiritual Exercise is going on a Contemplative Prayer Walk!

I led our Northlake Daily Chapels this week and took a prayer walk with my own kids. Today, I invite you to join us on our prayer walk and then take a prayer walk of your own! Our prayer walk starts at about the 2:30 mark in this video:

SONG: HE’S GOD THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS

BIBLE STORY: BALAAM & HIS DONKEY

Today’s Bible story comes from the book of Numbers and includes something that’s unseen to 1 person in the story, but we know- God sees ALL!

Extras: Find a word search and coloring sheet for this story HERE.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!
