55 Years This June…

55 Years Ago This June…

Decatur Church Logo… God added a new thread to the tapestry of His kingdom – the Decatur Church of Christ in
suburban Atlanta. But not new, really, because its fabric stretched back to the Druid Hills church and, before that, to the Seminole Avenue church in
Atlanta. Today that tapestry continues to be woven
in the Northlake congregation.

While the Decatur/Northlake tapestry continues to evolve, we see consistent themes – threads – woven through our history. Threads of outreach to our local community.. of global mission efforts in countries like Liberia, Brazil, Honduras…of providing support for senior citizens. Threads of commitment to the spiritual growth of our babies and young people, for the spiritual maturing of seekers and believers of all ages. Threads of meaningful worship assemblies and times of service to others. Threads of friendship and openness to people of different situations and circumstances.

We celebrate 55 years of God’s working among us – faith stories of friendships,
commitments, joys, sorrows, salvation, redemption. Let’s all take the time to “step back”, recognize the patterns and themes of our life together in Christ and give Him the glory!
